5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide you with our Services or as required for legal obligations. Specifically:

• Account information: Until account deletion
• Coffee reviews and journal entries: Until you delete them or your account is deleted
• Search history: Retained until you manually delete it
• Analytics data: 26 months

Upon Account Deletion, when you delete your account, we will either:

• Permanently delete all your personal information, OR
• Anonymize your data by removing all personally identifiable information while retaining non-identifiable data for analytics and improving our coffee database

Anonymized data may include:

• Coffee ratings and reviews (without your username or identifying information)
• Brewing recipes (as anonymous contributions)
• Coffee preference patterns for improving recommendations
• General usage statistics

This anonymized data cannot be used to identify you and helps us maintain the quality of our coffee database for other users.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:

• Secure authentication through Firebase Auth
• Regular security assessments
