Mejorado was originally named Typica Mejorado, meaning 'Typica Improved'. It was discovered growing on a farm cultivating the Typica variety, yet sharing no genetics with it. Genetic testing has confirmed it is a hybrid of Bourbon and Ethiopian Heirloom, making it a rare and sought-after coffee.
