Kisunga is one of the washing stations of the Virunga Coffee Company project, initiated in 2012 to improve coffee quality and increase the income of thousands of small producers in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. The project focuses on improving production through good agricultural practices, continuous training to elevate coffee quality, and obtaining international certifications to access better markets.
