Kisunga Coffee Washing Station is one of nine stations operated by Virunga Coffee Company, established in 2012 to produce high-quality specialty coffee and raise premiums for thousands of smallholder farmers in the region. Virunga's approach focuses on improving agronomic practices, raising quality through education and strict processing guidelines, and securing internationally recognised certifications to boost grower incomes.
