The farm is an inheritance from Juan's father, who first arrived in 1965 and began cultivating beans and coffee around 1970. The coffee was initially frowned upon by local Indigenous communities and had to be hidden. The farm gained recognition and improved its processes after winning a local contest in 2005. Juan Darío Gómez, the current owner, has been involved in coffee farming from a young age and has experimented with various organic and fermentation processes.
