Atitlán originates in San Juan La Laguna, in the heart of the Sololá department (Guatemala), between 1,200 and 1,400 meters above sea level. This area, nestled between three volcanoes on the Pacific slope, receives more than 2,500 mm of rain per year and maintains a constant humidity that provides the coffee plantations with an environment of great density and organic richness. The altitude slows maturation and reduces the presence of pests, favoring a slow and expressive development of the bean.
