Citrus, washed, natural, light roast. But do you like them?

Coffee bags are full of words: stone fruit, chocolate, floral, Ethiopian, Colombian, medium roast. They are useful, but only once you know how they map to your own palate. Most people never get the chance to connect those words to what they personally enjoy.

Find your taste by paying attention to it

  1. Beanie Scan a Coffee screen with Take Photo and Choose from Gallery buttons for identifying a coffee bag.

    Save the coffees you try

Scan the bag or search, then save the beans you are actually drinking.

  2. Beanie Coffee Journal showing a logged espresso with dose, water, ratio, temperature, grind, brewer, tasting notes, and a rating.

    Rate them honestly

A rating and a note. The entry holds your sensory read, no tasting vocabulary required.

  3. Beanie Discover screen: a searchable feed of specialty coffees, each with its roaster, origin, tasting notes, and a star rating.

    See the patterns

Beanie shows what your highest-rated cups have in common: the notes, origins, roasters, and roast levels you keep reaching for.

You do not need to be a coffee expert

There is no quiz and no wrong answers. You rate the coffees you liked and the ones you did not, and your taste takes shape from what you enjoyed, not what you think you should like.

The kind of thing you might start to notice

Everyone is different. Over enough cups, your ratings tend to point somewhere. For example:

  • You keep rating chocolatey medium roasts higher than bright, fruity ones.
  • Naturals from Ethiopia show up again and again in your favourites.
  • Washed coffees taste cleaner to you, and you reach for them more.
  • Low-acidity cups sit better with you than sharp, citrusy ones.
  • A few roasters keep showing up in your highest-rated coffees.
  • Stone fruit and berry notes rate well; nutty ones leave you flat.
